TIS’ THE SEASON TO SET SAIL: ROYAL CARIBBEAN ANNOUNCES HOLIDAY ADVENTURES

Deck the Holidays this December with the Biggest Holiday Celebration at Sea

NEW YORK, July 27, 2016 – Royal Caribbean International is inviting guests to start new holiday traditions at sea where the festive atmosphere will be aglow in the warm Caribbean waters, culminating in vivacious New Year’s Eve parties to ring in 2017 with families and friends. From ‘Snow Days on Deck’ that transform each ship’s social hub into sparkling, snowflake-filled holiday escapes, to Holly Jolly Holiday Parades and traditional tree lightings on every sailing, there will be holiday cheer around every turn throughout the month of December on all Caribbean-bound ships sailing from the U.S. eastern seaboard and Puerto Rico. In anticipation of the most wonderful time of the year, Royal Caribbean is spreading the holiday spirit in July with an exclusive “Deck the Holidays” promotion, offering guests up to $400 in onboard credit, 50 percent off a second guest and 50 percent reduced deposits on all December 2016 sailings that are booked on or before July 31, 2016.

"Royal Caribbean will ‘deck the halls’ across 16 ships with carolers spreading cheer poolside, holiday wreaths and trees glowing throughout the ships, the beloved dishes and drinks that invoke the festive season in all of us, and even the opportunity to snap a picture with Santa and his elves when he makes his stops onboard,” said Mark Tamis, Senior Vice President, Hotel Operations, Royal Caribbean International. “We are pulling out all the stops this holiday season, bringing together what people love most about this time of year – without any of the chores – to create the ultimate holiday celebration at sea and lasting memories of new traditions.”

Royal Caribbean ships will be transformed into wintry wonderlands, bustling with activities such as holiday movies poolside under the stars, cookie decorating, trivia competitions, traditional and pop-music caroling, Santa Parades, special presents for suite guests, and tree-and Menorah-lighting ceremonies on every sailing, to name a few of the happenings that await. On ships offering the DreamWorks experience, guests will be able to take holiday photos with their favorite characters from films such as Kung Fu Panda, Shrek and Madagascar, and enjoy special holiday-themed character breakfasts. For New Year’s Eve, guests can dress up and dance their way into 2017 with full-scale parties that take over the ships with live music, balloon drops, confetti, champagne toasts at midnight, and party favors galore.

Holiday sailings vary in length from three- to 12- night Caribbean itineraries. Offering three ways to experience a holiday on the world’s largest cruise ships to the most sought-after Caribbean island destinations, Royal Caribbean’s newest ship, Harmony of the Seas, and sister-ship Allure of the Seas will offer seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale, while Oasis of the Seas will sail from her new homeport in Port Canaveral, sailing itineraries that range from five to 10 nights.  In the Northeast, Anthem of the Seas will offer seven-night sailings from Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, NJ to the Bahamas and 10-night sailings to Eastern Caribbean islands including St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Puerto Rico and Labadee in Haiti.
