Dr. Zinan Liu

Dr. Zinan Liu joined Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. in 2009 and was tasked to build a team and develop business in China from the ground up. Within a short span of six years, Royal Caribbean International became the leading brand in China in terms of market presence and reputation.

Within Royal Caribbean, China has become one of the largest markets outside the U.S. with outstanding business performance track records, leading to the decisions to deploy Voyager Class, Quantum Class and Quantum Ultra Class ships in China – the largest and latest cruise ships with first at sea experiences in Asia. All of these actions have driven the last 10 years of development in the China cruise market.

Dr. Liu graduated from the University of London with a doctoral degree in economics. He has had a diverse career from university lecturer, investment banker to corporate executive. Dr. Liu is a recipient of “The Magnolia Award” which is awarded by the Shanghai government to successful executives of international enterprise. Serving as prior Chairman of CLIA North Asia, Chairman of Chinese Economic Association-UK and member of Royal Economic Society, Dr. Liu is an influential spokesman for the cruise industry in the region.
