Bert Hernandez
President, China
Royal Caribbean International

As President of Royal Caribbean International, China, Bert Hernandez oversees the day-to-day commercial and operational activities of the global cruise line’s business strategies in China. Hernandez’s key role involves the management and implementation of the company’s China-specific strategies that are designed to drive future growth as the cruise brand of choice in the region.

Hernandez joined Royal Caribbean in 2004, and most recently served as senior vice president and COO of operations at Royal Caribbean International, and sister cruise line Azamara Club Cruises and vice president of Revenue Management for Celebrity Cruises prior to returning to Royal Caribbean International. Bringing a wealth of experience with him to China, his varied senior positions in the company include experience in several business units such as corporate strategy, financial planning and itinerary planning.

The cruise line executive received his Master of Business Administration from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, following a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Davidson College in North Carolina.

He currently resides in Shanghai, China with his wife and two daughters.
