May 2019 – Excitement was in the air at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, today, as Royal Caribbean International marked an important milestone in the development of Odyssey of the Seas. Scheduled to be delivered in fall 2020, Odyssey received its first block as the keel was officially lowered and put into place.

February 1, 2019 – Royal Caribbean International marked the official start of construction today by cutting the first piece of steel for its second Quantum Ultra ship. The next engineering marvel in the innovative cruise line’s lineup will officially be named Odyssey of the Seas and is set to debut in Fall 2020 sailing out of the United States.

Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. was on hand to announce that the ship will be named Odyssey of the Seas and will debut fall 2020 and sail out of the United States.
