August 2025 – Royal Caribbean has selected research astronaut Kellie Gerardi as godmother of Star of the Seas. The 90th woman in history to fly to space, Gerardi is a payload specialist, researcher, children’s book author and devoted mother who inspires millions of people daily. She will participate in the maritime tradition of blessing Star during a celebratory naming ceremony at its year-round homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida, on Aug. 20, 2025.

August 2025 – Royal Caribbean’s newest icon of vacations, Star of the Seas arrived in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, ahead of its official debut on August 16. Star will deliver 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean adventures with stops to Royal Caribbean’s top-rated destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.

July 2025 – Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas is officially on its way to deliver the world’s best family vacation and has departed Turku, Finland, after more than two years of construction. The ultimate family vacation will now head to Cadiz, Spain, to prepare for its journey to Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, where Star will debut with 7-night adventures to the Western and Eastern Caribbean.

In the next edition of the Artist Discovery Program, Royal Caribbean has chosen its encore cohort of up-and-coming artists who will put their work on display for families and vacationers on Star of the Seas. Anthony Smith (Taoszen) from Jamaica will showcase his mural at the heartbeat of the soon-to-debut Icon Class vacation in the Royal Promenade neighborhood.

In the next edition of the Artist Discovery Program, Royal Caribbean has chosen its encore cohort of up-and-coming artists who will put their work on display for families and vacationers on Star of the Seas. Leaving guests with the ultimate first impression, Nestor Omar Garcia (Angurria) from the Dominican Republic will showcase his mural in Star’s embarkation area.

In the next edition of the Artist Discovery Program, Royal Caribbean has chosen its encore cohort of up-and-coming artists who will put their work on display for families and vacationers on Star of the Seas. Saegel Bascombe from Trinidad and Tobago will spotlight her art in the Suite Sun Deck lobby of the soon-to-debut Icon class vacation.

May 2025 – Chief Dog Officers Sailor and Rover officially met for the first time on Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas. The Icon Class pups will soon double the memories made by vacationers of all ages when Sailor joins the ultimate family vacation on Star of the Seas, debuting August 2025 in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.

May 2025 – Royal Caribbean’s highly anticipated Star of the Seas sets sail to the open ocean for the first time. The sea trials mark a key milestone in the construction of the ship and comes less than 100 days ahead of the new Icon Class vacation’s debut in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.
