Breaking World Records on Symphony of the Seas

June 2023 – Freestyle football world champion Liv Cooke makes her latest world record attempt on board Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas. Taking place against the awe-inspiring backdrop of the signature AquaTheater on Symphony of the Seas, Liv successfully achieved her seventh title – the “Most Sit-down Alternating Crossovers with a Football in 30 seconds (female).

Royal Caribbean International has orchestrated a new vacation experience that has redefined family and adventure travel. Symphony of the Seas, the cruise line’s newest ship, brings together the award-winning and acclaimed features only found on Royal Caribbean, with distinct new experiences that will continue to inspire adventure among guests of all ages.

July 2023 – Renowned freestyle football world champion and world record-holder Liv Cooke set out on new adventures on Royal Caribbean International’s Symphony of the Seas, which is cruising the Mediterranean this summer. The freestyler tested her mettle with the lineup of signature experiences and sports on board, like the FlowRider surf simulator, the Studio B ice-skating rink, the rock-climbing wall and the nine-deck-high zip line.

Every night, it’s “Lights, camera, action” for Royal Caribbean International’s 1,600 cast members, 600 musicians and 800 technicians. The world’s largest producer of live entertainment puts on full-scale, original productions across four “stages” – air, ice, water and theater – around the world for 105,000-plus guests of all ages. HiRo, Royal Caribbean’s newest aqua show, features more high-flying feats, unexpected stunts and extraordinary acrobatics than ever before. Brought to life by the world’s best extreme-sport athletes, HiRo pushes the limits of a theatrical production with cutting-edge technology and choreography. With 3D flying technology used by aerialists as they literally soar above the crowd, plus acrobats and professional divers no two shows are the same, making it worth seeing twice.

Royal Caribbean International’s new Symphony of the Seas is a “playground” for guests of all ages. From glow-in-dark laser tag, an escape room adventure and multistory waterslides, to the one-of-a-kind Ultimate Family Suite – featuring an in-suite slide, air hockey table and a private cinema – Symphony’s collection of bold, new thrills make this TIME magazine “World’s Greatest Places” winner the ultimate family vacation.

Royal Caribbean Productions original, ‘Flight: Dare to Dream’ takes guests on a thrilling journey through time, chronicling humanity’s fascination with flying – from the world’s first commercial flight to Mars in the future to the Wright Brothers’ monumental first flight at Kitty Hawk. Flight is set to make history as one of the most ambitious stage productions to date with the first theater set piece of its kind, the detailed design of Royal Caribbean’s ISS was informed by Astronaut Clayton C. Anderson, who lived 167 days in space and completed 38 hours and 28 minutes over 6 spacewalks in two separate missions.

Royal Caribbean International celebrated the homecoming of the world’s largest cruise ship with the naming ceremony of Symphony of the Seas, the 25th ship in the global cruise line’s impressive fleet. Symphony was named by the cruise industry’s first Godfamily, actors Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, and toddler son Ocean. The ultimate family was on hand to officially name the ship and bestow a blessing of safekeeping over her guests and crew. Dockside at Royal Caribbean’s new, state-of-the-art Terminal A in Miami, the milestone event was infused with modern day elements – ranging from an electronic violinist, to a stunning bottle break along the bow of the ship.

The sports deck on Symphony of the Seas is packed with adrenaline-inducing experiences. From the FlowRider surf simulator to the Ultimate Abyss – the tallest slide at sea, these features dial up the excitement and adventure for the whole family.
