August 2, 2013 - Royal Caribbean International took a major step this week in the development of the cruise line's next generation of cruise ships when the first piece of steel was cut for Anthem of the Seas, sister-ship to Quantum of the Seas. The steel cutting took place at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
August 2022 – Construction progresses on Royal Caribbean International’s $125 million cruise terminal in Galveston, Texas. The latest photos show the state-of-the-art terminal about 75% complete after the installation of active power and air conditioning. The opening of the 161,334-square-foot building in November 2022 will mark the first time Galveston welcomes the world’s largest cruise ships, the cruise line’s signature Oasis Class, beginning with Allure of the Seas.

Quantum of the Seas is moved out of the building hall at the Meyer Wert ship yard this morning. Also pictured is a block of Anthem of the Seas which is set to be moved into the building hall.
