August 2025 – Royal Caribbean has selected research astronaut Kellie Gerardi as godmother of Star of the Seas. The 90th woman in history to fly to space, Gerardi is a payload specialist, researcher, children’s book author and devoted mother who inspires millions of people daily. She will participate in the maritime tradition of blessing Star during a celebratory naming ceremony at its year-round homeport of Port Canaveral, Florida, on Aug. 20, 2025.

July 2025 – Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas is officially on its way to deliver the world’s best family vacation and has departed Turku, Finland, after more than two years of construction. The ultimate family vacation will now head to Cadiz, Spain, to prepare for its journey to Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, where Star will debut with 7-night adventures to the Western and Eastern Caribbean.
